1. Tell us briefly about your business and what motivated you to pursue government contracting.
Our mission is to successfully distribute equipment that fully suits your facility’s immediate needs. The technical devices and systems we provide offer long-term solutions for better patient outcomes and more in-house services. We make every effort to understand and assist our customers. We are available via electronic contact, phone, or in-person office setups or equipment planning. We can also advise on procurement and replacement of existing equipment or needs. Our motivation was that the VA hospital contacted me (David Koch), and as the only SBA vendor that had the equipment they needed, they subsequently bought the required product from me. Because of this, they introduced me to SAM.gov and the world of government contracting.
2. What challenges did you find in your pursuit?
It can be difficult to have someone in the company who could do full-time contract writing. Finding someone with that expertise is difficult and expensive for small business owners. Having come from the private sector, selling to the government was a daunting task, but with help from the Idaho APEX Accelerator, I was able to accomplish that task.
3. How did you learn about the APEX program?
I learned about APEX through SAM.gov.
4. Please share how working with your Idaho APEX consultant assisted you with federal contracting.
It has been a great help. One of the best aspects is that they are very responsive. They first
assisted me with an effective capability statement that helped me secure one of my first
government contracts. Then, they assisted me in renewing my SAM registration. We appreciate
the program because navigating the world of government contracting can be hard.
5. Have you been awarded any contracts/agreements since working with the Idaho APEX program?
Yes.
6. Would you recommend the Idaho APEX services to other businesses?
Yes, I would highly recommend Idaho APEX. They have been instrumental in my business’s success in the government marketplace.
